The Art Museum in Cluj-Napoca, a public cultural institution under the administrative authority of the Cluj County Council, organizes, from June 28 to July 16, 2023, the personal exhibition I want to keep you, with works of the artist Kancsura István (painting, object, installation).

Kancsura István was born on August 19, 1941 in Budapest, but he moved with his mother to Cluj, at the end of the same year. Here he became a pupil of the Art High School, graduating in 1959, Then he followed studies of painting as a student at Ion Andreescu Institute of Fine Arts, graduating in 1965.

After finishing his studies, Kancsura Istvan  stayed in Cluj-Napoca, where he undertook the pass of an independent artist. The creative effort in studio, sustained with self-demand for six decades, fas materialized in hundreds of works from which the evolution of an own, original style can be detected. The artist stands out through his work, which is based on a a personal program, related to the defining themes of to the Prolog group from Buchares. His works have been presented to the public in numerous personal or group exhibitions, in museums and art galleries in Cluj-Napoca, Bucharest, Timișoara, Budapest, Mücsarnok (Hungary), Coburg (Germany) and others.

The exhibition will be open for visitors from June 28 to July 16, 2023, from Wednesday to Sunday inclusive, between 10:00 and 17:00.
