Exhibition Wojciech Pukocz & Marta Borgosz. Right Here, Right There

»»» Event organized within the Romania-Poland Bilateral Cultural Season 2024/2025

● Right Here, Right There is a joint exhibition of two artist-painters and teachers from the Academy of Art in Wrocław. It includes the presentation of paintings, drawings and objects referring to the multidimensional and restless human nature. The juxtaposition of works by Wojciech Pukocz and Marta Borgosz creates an interesting dialog, complemented by a wide palette of representational means that both use to meditate - each in their own unique way - on life, on the essence of the human being and on the relations between the human beings. 

● The title of the exhibition Right Here, Right There emphasizes the universality of these stories, which, after all, have been told as long as mankind has existed and will always be told. At the same time, the artists, their protagonists, but also their audience, operate under specific conditions: of time, place, culture or society. This aspect also makes the universal a private matter, read in a personal key. The observer thus has a choice: either to look at the narrative from a broad perspective and treat it as a parable of the human species in general, or, on the contrary, to place himself at its center and take it very personally.

● For both artists, painting is the starting point and, although other forms of creativity appear in the exhibition, it is always about painting. Because to be a painter means that at some point in the creative process, the tradition of painting has to be referred to in the form of exploration, continuation or denial. However, regardless of one's attitude towards it, we are convinced that painting serves the purpose of introspection, which is what Wojciech Pukocz and Marta Borgosz are aiming for. The medium is therefore a kind of lens through which we look at ourselves.
