The Art Museum of Cluj-Napoca, a public institution of county interest, which operates under the authority of Cluj County Council, invites you to visit, between the 16th January – 2nd February 2025, the solo show of the artist Oana Năstăsache.

Oana Năstăsache (b. 1991, Galați) lives and works in Cluj-Napoca, where she completed her entire academic journey at the University of Art and Design. She graduated from the Painting Department in 2013, bachelor’s level, and continued her master’s studies until 2015, in 2022 she obtained her PhD in visual arts. Throughout her career, Oana has participated in numerous national and international group exhibitions, winning a prize at the Jeune Création Européenne (JCE) biennial in 2017. The public in Târgu-Mureș and Cluj has already had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with her paintings in solo shows, but this is her first solo exhibition that includes the entire series of works made between 2017-2024, as part of her PhD thesis research.

The artist combines precise geometries with strong color contrasts, creating tension between control and spontaneity. She combines rigid forms with energetic gestures, generating a dynamic dialog between stability and movement. In her practice she explores the balance between reason and instinct, where color and form become starting points for an intense visual experience. Her compositions invite the viewer to discover new perspectives and meanings in the newly created visual space: a two-dimensional space that aims to reduce the three-dimensional frames of the surrounding reality to a few essential lines.
