DECONSTRUCTIONS. Noémi Kiss personal exhibition
The Cluj-Napoca Art Museum, a public cultural institution that operates under the authority of the Cluj County Council, invites you to visit, between February 27 and March 16, 2025 the personal exhibition of the artist Noémi Kiss, ‘Deconstructions’. The opening of the exhibition will take place on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 5 p.m., in the presence of the artist and her guests.
Noémi Kiss was born in 1969 in Cristuru Secuiesc, Harghita County. She obtained a Master's degree in Architecture from the Vienna University of Technology, as well as a Master's degree in Philosophy from the Vienna University of Humanities. From 2011 to 2013 she was part of the artist duo KISS THE REICHL. Since 2013, she has been working as an independent artist, moving between art, design and architecture. As an architect and philosopher, Noémi Kiss works with a variety of materials. She brings old Persian carpets back to life, transforms them and gives them a new, surprising form, thusly creating new structures.
“The visual artist, architect and philosopher Noémi Kiss lives and works in Austria. With her work she creates seemingly obvious, everday things as a welcome to the ‚faulty‘: the inherent lack within the material, the mishap. The ‚lapse‘ is raised to design! By focusing clearly on the playful and ‚lighter‘ side of life, her work encourages us to accept our own supposed deficiency. Thus, her works arouse a cheerfulness that passes into the reflection of the beholder.” (Florian Schindler-Strauss)
