The Art Museum in Cluj-Napoca (MACN), a public cultural institution that operates under the Cluj County Council, in partnership with the Polish Institute in Bucharest [Instytut Polski w Bukareszcie] and the University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca (UAD), organizes, from November 27 to December 15, 2024, the poster exhibition of the famous Polish artist Ryszard Kaja, one of the reference figures of contemporary European poster design.
The exhibition will bring together, in a highly suggestive selection, more than 50 posters from the emblematic series “Plakat – Polska” (2019-2021), which captures the diversity, beauty and uniqueness of Poland’s cultural and geographical landscape.
For three days, from 26 to 28 November 2024, the exhibition will be complemented by a poster design workshop, supported by two designers and professors from the “Magdalena Abakanowicz” University of Arts in Poznań, Poland, in which will participate students and master’s students of the University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca (UAD), selected from the specializations “Graphics”, “Design”, “Comics and Animation”.
The posters created during the workshop, focused on the evocation and interpretation of Romania’s national cultural heritage, will be presented, in turn, within the exhibition.
