The events of the last 9 years, captured by Inquam photographers

October 28, 2022 - November 05, 2022

Ukrainian refugees fleeing the path of war, people lighting candles for the people who lost their lives in the fire at Clubul Colectiv, protesters in Piata Victoriei, doctors, nurses, victims of the Covid pandemic alike, politicians or athletes, all can be found in the images from the feed of the photojournalism agency Inquam Photos.

The 40 photos exhibited at the Fotopia Collective Festival are just a part of the 400 gathered in the first photojournalism album edited by the press agency Inquam Photos and the first edited by a press agency in the last 9 years.

"This album summarizes the first years of the agency's activity and, although it does not constitute an exhaustive study material for recent history, it represents our commitment to bring back attention to agency photojournalism, to respect copyright, to coherent and correct information and, above all, our commitment that we will continue to do exactly what is hidden in the Latin part of the agency's name, Inquam: we will say". This is the message the agency opens the albumwith.

On Saturday, October 29, from 16:00, together with Octav Ganea, photojournalist and agency coordinaor and Cornel Putan, local correspondent photojournalist in Timișoara, we will browse this album and discuss photography, photographers and photojournalism.

This exhibition was made possible with the support of Inquam Photos, Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, ThinkDigital and the Cluj-Napoca Art Museum.

Inquam Photos

The Inquam Photos agency was built by Ovidiu Micsik and Octav Ganea in the midst of the decline of the Romanian media, managing to understand from the very beginning both the editorial needs and the financial shortages of the newsrooms. The photos provided by the agency cover all areas of publishing, regardless of whether we are talking about national market leaders or local television stations, traditional publications or county newspapers, websites with millions of unique visitors or opinion blogs.
