The Art Museum of Cluj-Napoca, a public institution of county interest operating under the authority of the Cluj County Council, invites the public to visit the exhibition “Echoes of the Sacred (IV)”, between February 26 and March 15, 2026. The opening will take place on Thursday, February 26, at 6:00 PM. Opening words by:Dénes Gabriella, editor at RomKat.

Echoes of the Sacred is a group exhibition in which visual artists translate universal or individual perspectives on the sacred dimension of human life into works of art. Their approach is profound and shaped by personal evolution and individual experiences related to aspects of the sacred, which thus become metaphors of the creative spirit. The walls of the exhibition halls are transformed into a space of refined thoughts and spirituality metamorphosed into physical objects.

For many of the artists present in the exhibition, this approach is not new. Throughout their careers, they have explored or even developed artistic creations that dissect aspects of sacredness. Often, their endeavor has become emblematic, as they have succeeded in capturing the nature of sacredness in forms of expression that transcend the limits of traditional representation and navigate the experimental realms of visual arts.

Beyond the complexity of the theme, the works become personal testimonies about life, spirituality, divinity, and salvation. In these instances, the artist also becomes a messenger of ideas that compel the visitor to ask essential questions and to take part in the artistic effort to unravel the mysteries of the sacred and to trace the boundary between it and the profane.

The exhibited works include painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, textile art, photographic art, and digital art, covering a broad and profound spectrum of exploring sacredness.
