●“On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration and extermination camp at Auschwitz-Birkenau, the Art Museum in Cluj-Napoca (MACN), in partnership with the Center of Interest, marks the «International Holocaust Remembrance Day», honored annually on January 27, by inaugurating an essay-exhibition about the meanings and implications of memory, between knowledge and ignorance, between remembering and forgetting, inviting, by surveying some painful wounds of recent history, to an exercise of reflexive emphaty.
As a call to conscience and responsability, the exhibition also aims to raise an alarm signal regarding the dramatic repercussions produced by the unassumed lessons of the past (a panoply of altruistic calls to action and rehabilitation), whose deficiensies and weaknesses persist, regrettably, even today, sometimes in much aggravated forms [...]”.
