The Art Museum of Cluj-Napoca, public cultural entity of Cluj County Council, together with the „Györkös Mányi Albert” Memorial House of the Hungarian Cultural Society of Transylvania, in collaboration with the Liszt Institute Sfântu Gheorghe, invites you to the opening of the Albert Györkös Mányi anniversary exhibition. The event will take place on Wednesday, March 23 2022, at 6 p.m. in the Festive Halls (1st floor) of the Art Museum of Cluj-Napoca.
Albert Györkös Mányi was born in 1922 in Săvădisla. Although he spent most of his life in Cluj - as the saying goes, all roads lead to Rome - for him all roads led to his native village, both in thought and in creation. His conscientiousness, determination and consistency in painting are surprising, considering that he was a musician by training, practiced as a teacher at the Music High School and came into direct contact with the visual arts relatively late, only in the 1960s.

The exhibition is accompanied by a trilingual catalogue, which, in addition to Katalin Kós' preface, contains Ágota Ladó's curatorial-, and Zsuzsanna Szebeni's analytical text and about 60 reproductions of the artworks on display.
